Our Story;

F.I. Grey & Son, Inc. was established in 1924, on the Gulf Coast of Florida. Its founder, Frank I. Grey, originally from Massachusetts, came to Florida at the turn of the century to pioneer Florida's west coast. He helped to found and establish what is now New Port Richey. His son, James Grey, was the first male child born in New Port Richey.

As one of the founding fathers of New Port Richey, he helped to develop a bustling community led by many stars of the silent film era, the Hitchcock family, Gloria Swanson, Irving Berlin, Thomas Meghan, and Masters Golf Champion Gene Sarazan, to name a few.

At that time, most of his endeavors involved land sales of home sites and acreage in the outlying areas of the county. After WWII, his sons Jim and Bill, entered the business and followed in Frank's footsteps, building the community while serving as mayors, councilmen, and on numerous volunteer boards and service organizations.

James raised a family of six sons and two daughters. Two of the sons, John and Chuck, entered the business after finishing school and serving in the military. John, at the ripe old age of 19, was the youngest real estate licensee in the state of Florida. Chuck began in 1972 after military service. Both have worked diligently to serve their industry throughout the state. In the process, they have received numerous awards for such service.

In 1977 John and Chuck became President and Vice President, respectively, and in the 1990's purchased a COLDWELL BANKER franchise and formed Coldwell Banker - F.I. Grey & Son, Inc., bringing, for the first time, two "blue chip" firms together for the benefit of their clients. Coldwell Banker was established in 1906 (the national & international company) and F.I. Grey & Son, Inc., established in 1924, is one of the oldest real estate firms in Florida, with substantial local and regional strength.

Since that time, the firm has continued to become a major force in real estate in Florida, representing Buyers as well as Sellers in reaching their real estate goals. In 1999, Coldwell Banker - F.I. Grey & Son, Inc. was recognized as business of the year for Pasco County, and in 2002 as one of Coldwell Banker's TOP 25 Commercial Companies worldwide!

In 2005 Greg Armstrong, Bill Bunting & Cynthia Armstrong purchased the residential division of F. I. Grey & Son Realtors. The New Port Richey office of Coldwell Banker F.I. Grey & Son Residential, Inc. is located side by side with the commercial office that John & Chuck Grey still maintain.

In 2016 Bill Bunting opened the Lutz office to service the rapidly expanding Tampa suburbs. As of 2022 we now have more than 65 Realtors in the Coldwell Banker F.I. Grey & Son Residential, Inc. family.

With the dual benefits of the national resources that come from being a Coldwell Banker franchise combined with the local expertise, knowledge & caring that we have maintained for over 98 years in this community it is certain that these assets, brought to bear on your real estate needs, can only produce a positive result!
